In this Still Life Watercolor Course, students will be given the opportunity to learn a multitude of watercolor techniques that are appropriate for many subjects. We will be working from a photograph, beginning with a grid drawing. Students will receive instruction on the step-by-step process of constructing a watercolor still life from layout through to completion. We will discuss perspective, color mixing, light and shadow, reflective surfaces, and more. This class will be suitable for beginners as well as students with some former painting experience.

Meet Robyn Glass of Art by Robyn Glass:

"I have been drawing and painting since I was very young. I was fortunate to have parents and grandparents who encouraged me artistically and allowed me to pursue this interest. In high school, my Art teacher coordinated a trip to Europe to see the historic and monumental Art museums of the world, which was a pivotal point for me. I studied art in college and earned my BFA in Studio Art with emphasis on printmaking and painting from UT Arlington in 2002.

After having worked with children for several years, I earned my teaching certification in Art Education in 2008. I began my teaching career in Arlington, and after the birth of my 1st son, my family moved back to Bryan where I grew up.

I became a member of the Brazos Valley Art League in 2011, which gave me the opportunity to host painting and drawing workshops for adults, and show my work in local galleries. I took a 5-year “hiatus” from teaching to stay home with my kids, and during this time, I began working from home as a designer of dinnerware and textiles for MDesign Studio.

I have about 10 years of Art teaching experience, and I have shown and sold my work at various locations in Texas including The Upstairs Gallery of Arlington, Binary Space, The Frame Gallery, The Brazos Center, The Texas Gallery at the Bryan Visual Arts Center, Living Water Pottery Studio, and others. I have hosted about 12 workshops in watercolor and drawing for adult students. My favorite subject to paint is children. My two sons are my strongest inspiration."
